Good Evening,
I would utilise the blog as a journal for my students where they can make weekly post about how they like class and other aspects of school, also problems that they encounter during that said week.
This will then in turn help me to monitor their thinking patterns and their growth not only socially but educationally as I would have to read their post and make comments similarly as what is done in a regular journal.
I can definitely see my students enjoying this idea of using a blog instead of having to write in a book for every journal entry.
I see myself using the blog personally as a teachers reflection/evaluation tool, after I have taught a lesson I would then use the blog to reflect and evaluate the lesson. Therefore instead of always writing in one said book that I would issue to my principal, I would also have this posted on my blog so I am able to monitor the progress of both how my children are learning and my styles as a teacher.
Cheers to new ideas.
Tiffo :)
Hey Tiffo, my question to this is, what is the target age of students that you'd use this with? I think your idea is awesome indeed, you could also incorporate parent participation depending on the age of your students.
ReplyDeleteGreetings Lauricia,
ReplyDeleteThis would be for students in a grade 3-4 setting that already has the concrete knowledge of usage of a computer. I also like your suggestion about including parents. Thanks for reading and commenting.
Tiffo.. :)
Hey Tiffo this is really nice.
